Dr. Tom Hewitt, DC, CSCS was born in England and lived there until the age of 7 at which point he moved with his family to Canada. He has always strived to be an active individual participating in team sports such as ice hockey, volleyball and lacrosse in addition to rowing and mountain biking throughout highschool and travelling internationally as a competitive sailor from a very young age. It was his passion for sailing and windsurfing that initially introduced him to the benefits of Chiropractic medicine. While Dr. Tom was a member of the Provincial Windsurfing Team in Ontario Canada, the Ontario Provincial and National Olympic Windsurfing coach Dr. Jens Knof, DC, initially evaluated and treated him following a regatta. The instant relief and sensation of euphoria and energy following his first chiropractic adjustment left Dr. Hewitt with only one thought in his mind: That he too wanted to study Chiropractic medicine to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
He graduated on the Deans List with a combined pre-medical science and undergraduate degree in English Literature at The University of Western Ontario's prestigious Huron College campus. Between his undergraduate studies and Chiropractic college, Dr. Hewitt travelled to live in the Cayman Islands to further pursue his passion for sailing and windsurfing before starting his post graduate doctorate studies at Los Angeles Chiropractic College. While studying in California, Dr. Tom was greatly involved in both on-campus activities and off campus philanthropic endeavors including American Heart Association, March of Dimes, LA Marathon and building homes for low income families with Habitat for Humanity. Dr. Tom Hewitt graduated on the Dean's List with Delta Sigma honors and a Distinction for Clinical Excellence, in addition to successful completion of all 4 parts of the National Chiropractic Boards, Physical Therapy certification and certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer.
Dr. Thomas Hewitt now continues to enjoy an active California lifestyle with his wife in Newport Beach. It is his belief that as a Doctor of Chiropractic, he is rewarded with the ability to be a role model for all of his patients and an advocate for good health in all aspects of life.
