Dr. Shayna Guitare, DC was born and raised in Torrance, CA. Growing up in the South Bay, she loves being outside, going to the beach, and staying active. The majority of her life has revolved around competing in various sports such as gymnastics, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, soccer, track and field, and water polo. Her love and passion for sports and competition are how she found her love of the human body and its’ amazing abilities.
Her competitive spirit and athleticism brought her to California State University, Bakersfield where she played Division 1 Indoor and Beach Volleyball. She received her Bachelor’s Degree Cum Laude in Physical Education and Kinesiology with emphasis in Exercise Science.
Throughout her athletic career, Dr. Guitare sustained many injuries, some of which included two knee surgeries. Although unfortunate circumstances, her injuries are what first connected her to Chiropractic. Once she received Chiropractic care, and realized how great her body was naturally designed to feel following treatment, she fell in love with it and became completely fascinated! She knew this was her calling.
With a compassionate drive to help others and an eagerness to learn more, Dr. Guitare pursued her career as a Chiropractor and attended Los Angeles Chiropractic College. While in school, she was the Vice President of the Student California Chiropractic Association where she lobbied for Chiropractic rights. She was an active board member of Rehab to Performance, where she educated fellow students on rehab techniques to help patients reach optimal performance. And lastly a 4-year participant in Chirogames, where she represented LACC in playing Beach Volleyball and brought home 4 silver medals. She completed her internship at Back to Basics and graduated in 2017 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic Magna Cum Laude, with Delta Sigma honors.
Dr. Guitare embodies a highly motivated, enthusiastic, passionate energy into healing. She focuses on a whole body approach to wellness and utilizes various techniques to treat the cause of her patients unique and individual needs.
Dr. Guitare currently resides in Orange County where you may be able to spot her out on the beach playing volleyball whether it be for fun, or playing in local CBVA or AVP Tournaments.
